StoryCorps offers recording and archiving as a free service, and there is no cost to participate. We want everyone to have the opportunity to record, preserve, and share their personal histories with their loved ones, and to become a part of our archive at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress.
StoryCorps is an independently funded organization. Our suggested donation of $50 goes toward the day-to-day recording operations and helps make the StoryCorps experience available and accessible for others. If you would like to make a donation at the time of your recording, please bring along your preferred form of payment. You may also donate online.
While there is no charge for participating in StoryCorps, we do require a credit card at the time you schedule your appointment. We do not charge your credit card when you sign up for your appointment, and the only time we will use your card on file is in the event of a last-minute cancellation.
