There are a number of ways you can share your StoryCorps interview with others, depending on the privacy settings you choose for your interview and whether or not you decide to publish it to archive.storycorps.org. Share your published, public interview from archive.storycorps.org
If you’ve published your interview and set the privacy settings to Public, you can log into your archive.storycorps.org account on a desktop or laptop computer and share your interview from there. You'll be able to access a multitude of sharing options from the interview page including:
- a direct Link to Story (which can be shared via an email or other messaging app)
- an Embed code (to embed the interview into a website)
You'll also have the option to Download a copy of your interview to your computer to create a backup copy or share with others using your preferred file sharing app. You can access these options by clicking the Share icon on the right side of the media player on the interview page.

Share your published, public interview from the StoryCorps App
If you’ve published your interview and set the privacy settings to Public, you’ll also be able to share it with friends and family directly from the StoryCorps App. To share your interview with the app:
- Go to your Profile in the app
- Select Interviews and then select the interview you want to share
- On the right side of the media player, select the Share icon
From there, you can send a direct link to your interview on archive.storycorps.org via email or your prefered messaging app. You can also share the interview to most social networks you have activated on your phone, such as Facebook and Twitter.
Share your published, private interview
If you’ve chosen to keep your interview Private, the sharing options for public interviews mentioned above won’t work. However, you do have the option to create a secret link which allows select people with the link to hear your interview while keeping it inaccessible to the public. Is there a way to share a private interview?
You can also download your interview audio file from the StoryCorps App or archive.storycorps.org and share the audio file directly with family and friends. Once you have download your interview, you can send the audio file to anyone you’d like. Can I download my StoryCorps interview from the website to my computer?
Please note: The audio files generated by the StoryCorps App can be quite large and may be too big to attach and share via email. We suggest using a file-sharing service like Google Drive or DropBox when sharing your audio files directly.
Share your unpublished App interview
If you chose not to publish your interview, the only copy of your interview audio is saved to your device as a draft. Since the interview was not published on archive.storycorps.org, there is no way to generate any kind of link to it to share via the web. However, you can download a copy of your interview draft from the StoryCorps App to your device. Once you have download your interview from the app, you can send the audio file to anyone you’d like.
