How do I invite members to join a community?

To invite people to join your community, community representatives will need to distribute a link to the established community page through your preferred communications channels; for example, via email or by posting it on your website. We highly recommend that you draft and include your custom question list with this communication. There is not a way to invite new members directly through the website.

Anyone who has the link (any member of the public) will be able to access the community page with or without logging into However, users must be signed into their account to join the Community.

Here is sample text for inviting new community members:

“[Entity] has established a community on to help our members share stories. You’ve been invited to join the [entity] community on Please follow this link to create an account on Next, download the StoryCorps app to record and share your story with the community.”
