How to publish to social media using downloadable badges

This article details how you can share about your One Small Step experience on social media using downloadable badges after your participation.

Steps to download a badge

Step 1: Go to the OSS Post Participant landing page

Step 2: Scroll down to see the three options for downloadable images. 

  • Pick the graphic you like most and click “download image” below the graphic

Step 3: Save image

  • Save the image to your desktop for easy access

Step 4: Upload the image to your preferred social media account

  • For Facebook, you can include the image as a new post and copy and paste one of the following saying: 
    1. I want to be part of the solution. That’s why I decided to participate in One Small Step. I had a conversation with someone who has different views than I do, and we were able to talk to each other about our lives and what shaped our beliefs. It was great! Consider signing up for a One Small Step conversation: takeonesmallstep.org
    2. I participated in One Small Step to help bring our community together—one conversation at a time. I wanted to understand another person’s life and what shapes their beliefs, and it was a great experience! Please consider joining this effort and have a conversation with someone who is different from you: takeonesmallstep.org
    3. I recently participated in a conversation with someone who has different political views than me. It was a great experience and I learned that my conversation partner and I have more in common than what divides us. takeonesmallstep.org

  • For Instagram, you can upload the image to your story with a link to takeonesmallstep.org
  • For X, you can upload the image and share a shorter note along with it

7 STEPS

1. Navigate to the Stay Involved in One Small Step webpage

2. Click Download this badge below your preferred social media image

3. Open Facebook and click What's on your mind, [name]? to begin a new post.

4. Click the Add Photos/Videos box and select the downloaded image.

Step 4 image

5. Click What's on your mind, [name]? Copy to type a message about why One Small Step is an important program and invite your friends to take part.

6. Scroll down and click Post

Step 6 image

7. Scroll down and that's it. You're done.
