Often our staff receive questions like: Would you be interested in recording an interview with____? How do I apply to record an interview?
The answer is that anyone can record a StoryCorps interview. StoryCorps is interested in collecting interviews from everyone across the United States to add to our archive. Far more interviews are recorded and archived with the Library of Congress than we could ever share through our broadcasts, podcast, and animations. But whether your interview makes it to the radio or not, by recording with StoryCorps you’re contributing to a historical record of American life.
How can you make an appointment? Keep an eye on our Participate page to see if you're anywhere near one of our StoryBooths, or our MobileBooth.
If you're not near one of our recording locations, consider using our app to record and share your story. The StoryCorps App (which you can download from the App Store, Kindle Store, or Google Play) and archive.storycorps.org are places where you can record, share, and catalog your story. You can record a conversation, and it will be preserved by the Library of Congress.
You can see more steps on getting started with the app here.
