What is StoryCorps Virtual?
StoryCorps Virtual is a newly created platform that allows participants to see and hear one another during their conversation, and to be joined by a facilitator remotely. Due to the recent pandemic, we’ve been unable to record our normal Signature interviews in person. This allows you the opportunity to participate in the special StoryCorps experience in the comfort of your home.
During StoryCorps’ remote visit, the interview process and experience will be maintained using a pilot video conference technology platform. The StoryCorps facilitator will initiate the recording and handle all the technical aspects. Participants just need a strong internet connection and access to a computer with a microphone and camera.
After the recording they will have the option to add their recording to the StoryCorps Archive and the Library of Congress archive so future generations will be able to hear it. Participants will also receive a copy of the recording to use and share.

How is this different from StoryCorps Connect?
StoryCorps Virtual is different from StoryCorps Connect, because unlike StoryCorps Connect, StoryCorps Virtual allows for a trained facilitator to guide you through the interview process and be there to support you in your conversation. Click here to learn more about StoryCorps Connect.
Why it is still bound to a location even though it's a virtual platform?
StoryCorps Virtual is bound to a location because of the partnerships and commitments we have with local public radio stations.
